Document Description
Caltrans proposes replacing curb ramps and installing new signal poles and controllers on SR-116 at the intersection of Old River Road. The project will provide continuous pedestrian access between the sidewalk network, recreational areas, and visitor accommodations, reducing reliance on vehicles. The improvements will also address longstanding community concerns by reducing hazardous conditions for pedestrians and ensuring Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance in the area. Construction will involve removing the existing concrete curbs, gutters, and sidewalks and replacing with ones that are ADA compliant. Any removed pavement markings and delineation will be replaced. Electrical signal poles, controllers, and cabinets will also be replaced. Traffic control and portable traffic lights will be required during construction.
