Document Description
Monterey One Water ("M1W) owns and operates a coastal subterranean wastewater pump station referred to as the Coral Street Pump Station ("Pump Station") in the City of Pacific Grove, California. Due to proximity to the sea, the Pump Station is vulnerable to sea level rise and storm surge. Both of these events increase the potential for damage or failure of the electrical equipment due to seawater inundation and increase the risk of sanitary sewage overflows ("SSO") into the adjacent marine environment. The Coral Street Pump Station Electrical Relocation Project ("Proposed Project") consists of the relocation of the Pump Station's electrical equipment to address concerns regarding sea level rise. Specifically, the Proposed Project consists of three (3) components described below:
1. Existing Pump Station Improvements;
2. Electrical Equipment Relocation; and
3. Electrical Conduit Duct Bank Installation.
The purpose of the Proposed Project is to enhance the Pump Station's reliability during large storms and flood events.
