Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number PLU-61993 -R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Pacific Gas and Electric Company. The project consists of conducting horizontal directional drilling (HDD) under seven (7) culvert crossings associated with seasonal or year-round natural streams or springs within the road prism of Caribou Road to facilitate placement of a conduit for purposes of undergrounding an electrical power transmission cable that was destroyed during the Dixie Fire.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 2c because this project is for a replacement of an existing communication cable destroyed during the Dixie Fire. Class 2d because replacement of destroyed telecommunications cables is through undergrounding rather than replacement above ground. Class 4f because Horizontal Directional Drilling is a form of trenching under waterways backfilled by conduit with minimal to no significant disturbance to the soil surface.
