Document Description
The project consists of installing 41 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations—39 dual-port and 2 single-port units—at the PSP’s Lot B public parking area. The scope of work includes installing the EV chargers, transformer pad, distribution switchboard pads, concrete base and conduit trenching to accommodate the new electrical service. This effort is part of Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Charge Ready Program. Under this program, SCE will install the load-side infrastructure, while the airport (PSP) will be responsible for installing the EV chargers.

Reasons for Exemption
In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the installation of EV chargers is categorically exempt under Section 15303, Class 3. This exemption applies to the construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures; the installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures; and the conversion of existing small structures with only minor exterior modifications. Since the EV chargers will be installed at an existing public parking lot (Lot B), no further CEQA review is required.
