Document Description
Caltrans proposes replacing a damaged culvert on State Route (SR-) 24 in Lafayette, Contra Costa County, at the westbound off-ramp to Deer Hill Road (post mile 6.50). The damaged culvert collects water from landscaped on- and off-ramps, a park and ride facility, and surface streets and drains the water across the on- and off-ramps. The roadway will be trenched to remove and replace the damaged culvert with a new culvert of the same size. The roadway will then be backfilled and repaved with slurry cement and asphalt concrete (AC). Construction equipment may include, but will not be limited to, excavators, dump trucks, pavers, rollers, and sweepers. All work will be within the existing roadway prism and little disturbance is expected. Construction will be conducted during the spring and summer construction season beginning July 15th, 2026, and will be completed by the end of October 2026. See continuation sheet.
