Document Description
The project will install three new 350-ton chillers to replace three existing chillers (two 1000-ton chillers and one 350-ton chiller) inside the Central Plant Chiller Room. Two existing chilled water pumps within the Central Plant Chiller Room will also be replaced along with some of the existing interconnecting chilled water piping. Two existing condenser water pumps inside the effluent filters pipe gallery will also be replaced. The six existing secondary·chilled water pumps at the basements of Joint Administration Office and the SJC WRP Laboratory buildings will be demolished as part of the project and the chilled water piping to each air handler unit at those buildings will be modified to replace existing control valves and add instrumentation. The exhaust fan ventilation system inside the Central Plant Chiller Room will be replaced to suit the new chillers and the refrigerant leak detection system in the room will be replaced to a system capable of detecting the refrigerant type used by the new chillers.
