Document Description
The Proposed Action is the acquisition of seven zero-emission transit buses and one zero-emission coach bus that will replace eight existing fossil-fueled buses in the UCLA transit fleet. The buses will be stationed at the UCLA Transit Operations and Maintenance Yard, located at 11075 Kinross Avenue in the southwest portion of the campus. The new transit buses will be equipped with Level 3-grade wireless charging capabilities. No physical development or physical change in the environment is contemplated in the Proposed Action, nor would there be any change in use or expansion of service.

Reasons for Exemption
The Proposed Action is exempt from the CEQA as it: (1) involves the procurement of equipment, improvements for which are contingent on future CEQA compliance per §15004; (2) does not constitute a “project” “approval” under CEQA per §21065 and §15352; and (3) it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment per §15061.
