Document Description
*Withdrawn Per Lead, See __Memo in the Attachments Tab for more information. Project proposes prescribed burns in a mosaic of grasslands and oak trees in the Sonoma Developmental Center project area east of Arnold Drive near the boundary of Sonoma Valley Regional Park, to reduce wildfire risk, restore the historic role of fire, improve biodiversity, and support long-term stewardship of the area. Work will occur in areas where vegetation was killed in the 2017 wildfires and on non-system trails and service roads in grasslands. Existing fire roads, trails, and non-system routes will be used as boundaries and fire line will be dug as necessary to protect resources, infrastructure, and other utilities. There would be no new ground disturbance, and minimal impact to existing vegetation and viewsheds.
