Document Description
The Project will stabilize and enhance a 134.6 linear feet portion of the bank along San Mateo Creek (Creek) by removing an existing unauthorized sakrete revetment, grading the bank, and adding rock and plantings. The unauthorized sakrete revetment, which totals 0.009 acres (ac), will be removed and its contents will be disposed of at a landfill. Rock slope protection will be placed to stabilize the bank. Three rootwad structures will be installed throughout the Project site. The Project will revegetate the site with plantings and native erosion control mix. Four removed trees will be replaced with 26 trees: nine creek dogwood, fourteen arroyo willow stakes, and three California bay laurel. Additionally, twelve baltic rush, six dudley’s sedge, and six coastal wood fern will be planted. This project will help reduce bank erosion through removing the sakrete wall, creating more channel diversity through the addition of root wad structures, grading the bank to a more stable slope, and revegetating the area with native plants.
