NID plans to repair deteriorated concrete identified between Joint 5 and Joint 6 (also referred to as Panel 5) along the spillway’s right training wall. Repairs to the training wall involve removal and replacement of deteriorated concrete, and are necessary to prevent further damage, protect the structure from failure, and maintain the release of flood water from the reservoir. All work will be conducted on the existing spillway and will be conducted in early October 2025 to meet NID’s desired return-to-service date for spill operations by November 1, 2025. Beneficiaries of the project include NID and public safety to prevent loss of life and property through the maintenance and protection of their facility and infrastructure.
