Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project would include interior and exterior renovations, and minor site improvements to existing facilities, which would be exempt under Class 1, Existing Facilities (Section 15301 of the CEQA Guidelines). The proposed project involves the replacement and reconstruction of existing structures with substantially the same purpose, such as upgrades to interior spaces and utilities, which would be exempt under Class 2, Replacement or Reconstruction (Section 15302 of the CEQA Guidelines). The proposed project may involve the minor addition of approximately 1,000 square feet to the Multi-Use Room, as well as the installation of new equipment, which would be exempt under Class 3, New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures (Section 15303 of the CEQA Guidelines). The proposed project involves minor modifications to the campus, such as hardscape, exterior, and roofing repairs, which would be exempt under Class 4, Minor Alterations to Land (Section 15304 of the CEQA Guidelines). The proposed project may install less than 10 temporary portable buildings during construction and may include a 1,000-square-foot expansion of the Multi-Use Room, which would be exempt under Class 14, Minor Additions to Schools (Section 15314 of the CEQA Guidelines). The proposed project was also reviewed for possible exceptions under Section 15300.2, and it was determined that the exceptions do not apply.
