Document Description
The proposed project would include modernizations such as roofing/HVAC, painting, upgrading sewer, ADA accessibility; modernizing learning studios (whiteboards, tackboards, carpet, casework replacement, etc.); upgrading technology infrastructure; and interior upgrades to the Innovation Center (library), Multi-Purpose Room, and front office. The District will be pursuing State funds. Site demolition would be minimal and noninvasive. The proposed project would not impact student enrollment, staffing, or circulation patterns at the site. Temporary portable classrooms (fewer than 10) may be used during construction but would be removed upon completion. Overall, the proposed project would benefit Ashley Falls School students and staff by providing enhanced educational facilities and accessibility.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project would include interior and exterior renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and minor site improvements to existing facilities, which would be exempt under Class 1, Existing Facilities (CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 ). The proposed project involves the replacement and reconstruction of existing facilities with substantially the same purpose, such as HVAC and roofing repairs, which would be exempt under Class 2, Replacement or Reconstruction (Section 15302). The proposed project involves minor modifications to the school's outdoor areas which are consistent with the current use and would not result in significant changes to land use, and therefore, would be exempt under Class 4, Minor Alterations to Land (Section 15304). The proposed project may install 10 portable buildings during construction which would be removed upon completion, and would be exempt under Class 14, Minor Additions to Schools (Section 15314). The proposed project was also reviewed for possible exceptions under Section 15300.2, and it was determined that the exceptions do not apply.
