Document Description
The project consists of several upgrades to
the Ygnacio Valley Library, including the roof, electrical system, and the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning
(HVAC) system. The existing roof will be reinforced with a new moisture barrier to maintain the life of the roof.
Minor repairs for drainage and soffit replacement will be performed for small sections damaged by moisture
exposure. The electrical system upgrade will install a new switchboard which will allow for lighting upgrades and
future electrical services, such as electric vehicle charging stations. The existing gas-powered HVAC system
will be demolished and replaced with an all-electric system. The new system will be housed on a concrete pad
at the rear of the library. There will be no expansion of the building and no structural impact changes. The library
is anticipated to be closed for at least 8 months to accommodate the project. In addition, the front parking lot is
anticipated to be used as a staging area and will be closed during the entire construction duration. Real estate
transactions and utility relocations may be necessary. Tree trimming may be necessary to accommodate the
project. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026, will take place during normal business hours, and will take
approximately 8 months to complete.
