The Project involves a Rezone of the property for a Retail Cannabis Dispensary Business. The storefront retail will occupy a suite in an 8,076 square feet total existing commercial building. Reasons for Exemption
The Department of Cannabis Control has determined that the project is a Class 3 Categorical Exemption project.
Class 3 consists of construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures; installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures; and the conversion of existing small structures from one use to another where only minor modifications are made in the exterior of the structure at the time of the lead agency’s determination. The Project establishes a proposed Retail Cannabis Dispensary Business and will only result in the conversion of existing small structures from one use (vacant former commercial space) to another (retail cannabis business) where only minor modifications are made in the exterior of the structure. The design, location, size, and operating characteristics of the Project are compatible with the existing and future land uses within the vicinity. None of the exceptions to the exemption defined in Section 15300.2 apply to the Project.
