Document Description
The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) is a Responsible Agency for the Project. The State Water Board is funding the Project referred to internally as Hope School Water System Consolidation with Porterville Project. The components of the Project, to be funded by the State Water Board, include the consolidation of Hope Elementary School with the City of Porterville’s existing water system. The Project will construct 12-inch water mains, including approximately 6,550 linear feet along South Indiana Street and 5,300 linear feet along West Teapot Dome Avenue, of which approximately 1,345 linear feet will be installed via jack and bore drilling under State Route 65. Additional components include installing 23 one-inch water services for future residential connections; a four-inch service connection, water meter, and backflow preventer at the school; removing the existing storage tank and appurtenances; and destroying and abandoning the existing Wells 1 and 2. Fire hydrants will be installed approximately every 500 feet along the new mains.
