Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS- CCA-43825-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Contra Costa County Public Works Department.
The project is limited to demolition and replacement of two existing bridges crossing over Marsh Creek located at Post Mile (PM) 5.0 and 5.2. The bridges are located approximately 0.2 mile apart. Both replacement bridges will be one lane, single span, reinforced concrete slabs with wingwalls at all four corners and supported by Cast-In-Drilled Hole (CIDH) pile abutments. Approach metal guard railing will be installed at all four bridge corners. At Bridge 5.0, 338 feet of guard railing will be installed and 200 feet of guard railing will be installed at Bridge 5.2. The proposed bridge clear width and paved roadway section width at both bridges will be 16 feet wide and will consist of one 12-foot-wide lane with 2-foot-wide shoulders. The overall length of roadway reconstruction is 361 feet at Bridge 5.0 and 386 feet at Bridge 5.2. The bridge approaches will be repaved, and adjacent drainage will be improved. The profile grade of the roadway and bridges will be raised, and the lengths of both bridges will increase by approximately 23 feet (38 feet total length). The bridge superstructures consist of cast-in-place concrete slabs.
