Document Description
Eastern Municipal Water District’s (EMWD) Well 25 has been offline since 2022 due to the production of sand and filter/gravel pack material, which signaled a potential failure of the well casing. To return Well 25 to its historical production of 1,400 gallons per minute, targeted zone sampling is required to identify if the water well’s screen is the source of sand and gravel or if there is another cause. This would aid in identification of the proper repair method for the well. This testing is part of the Well 25 rehabilitation, which included the removal of the well pump, mechanical cleaning of the casing, and integrity inspection. Beneficiaries of the project are EMWD ratepayers.
