Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
15302 Replacement or Reconstruction and 15303 Ne3w Construction.
Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project would renovate and add new lighting to an existing high school pool site. The project involves negligible or no expansion of use as the project renovations and lighting aren't intended to increase rentals or add night events, but to improve safety and allow current evening activities to finish without being cut short due to darkness. The school anticipates that the same users (students and rental groups) that are currently accommodated will use the pool following the installation of lighting. There is no associated increase in classrooms or student capacity at this site. Therefore, the improvements are considered non-capacity increasing, would replace existing facilities and would consist of only minor new construction.
