Document Description
The Road Department proposes to crack seal, joint seal and slurry seal Runway 12/30, Taxiway A, aircraft tie down areas and the airport service road. The existing asphaltic surfaces do not have a polymer-modified asphalt binder in the asphalt surface. The airport pavements are subject to the thermal stresses due to significant temperature variations in mountain climates which has resulted in deteriorating pavement surfaces. This work will be completed on the runway, aircraft tie down apron, airport access road, and the taxiway. This work will include clean out joints in the existing asphalt pavement; crack seal all existing joints in the asphalt pavements; and slurry seal the aircraft tiedown apron, runway, and airport access road. Designate a contractor's storage space and temporary stockpile areas on the FBO; designate a haul route through on Airport Road, and all project construction activities are confined to existing paved surfaces.
