Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a maintenance project in Merced County near Santa Nella from 0.75 north of the State Route (SR) 33 and Interstate 5 separation to the intersection of SR 140 and Sullivan Road. The project consists of 0.15’ Mill and Fill. Prior to the overlay placement there will also be spot location digouts with a maximum depth of 0.25’. Crash Barriers will be installed on the southbound SR 33 in front of the bridge railing at Post Mile (PM) 21.47 and PM 23.35. All work will be done within the Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of the project is to repair areas of failing or damaged pavement and facilities. The project is needed to prevent further deterioration of the paved highway surface and extend the service life of SR 33.
