Document Description
The Lot 25 Gateway Transportation Improvements project will improve safety and circulation for the campus community by separating various transportation modes at Parking Lot 25. The mixing zones between Orchard Road and Segundo Dining Commons will be reconfigured to improve separation for pedestrians, micromobility, and vehicles. Lot 25 currently has parking lot aisles that span in an east-west direction, and the project will provide an aisle at the center, allowing vehicles to travel north and south, perpendicular to the existing traffic direction. Traffic signal modifications will be made at the intersection of Orchard Road, Blue Ridge Road, and La Rue Road. A new pedestrian sidewalk will be paved on the northside of Orchard Road. Tabletop crossing will be paved for pedestrians to cross safely from Segundo Dining Commons to the ARC and from the ARC to Lot 25. The project includes new landscaping, light installation, irrigation, cement, and paint. Minor modifications will be made to the electrical system with the addition of five new pedestrian lights and the relocation of four lights.
