Document Description
Proposed improvements consist of repairing the damage that occurred during the extreme storm events. The heavy rains saturated the adjacent uphill slope and downhill embankment, resulting in rockslides, debris, and landslides that damaged and fractured/cracked the pavement. Some sections of pavement (and curb) detached and slid into the downhill embankment. The proposed repair project would consist of repairing the roadway and installing a soldier pile and lagging retaining wall on the downhill slope/embankment side to stabilize the slope and provide the stability necessary for the repair. To stabilize the uphill slope, the project proposes to install high strength wire mesh anchored by soil nails. Additionally, if damage is discovered in the buried culverts, the project would repair the damage, which would involve trenching of approximately 1-1.5 feet in width and approximately 3 feet in depth and replacing the pipe in-kind.
