Reasons for Exemption
The City conducted a pilot program and performed sound studies by a qualified consultant prior to finalizing plans to permanently convert some tennis courts to pickelball courts. The conversion of tennis courts to pickleball court promotes negligible activity compared to the existing use and does not have a significant effect on the environment.
The noise assessment reports indicates that the conversion of a tennis court to a pickleball court will increase the noise level by 2dba and concludes the change is insignificant.
