Document Description
Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) is proposing the Los Angeles Union Station (LAUS) Roadway Repairs Project (Project). An abandoned underground utility tunnel at Union Station’s Southeast Access Road is structurally compromised and has partially collapsed, causing a sinkhole in the road approximately six feet long by six feet wide by twelve inches deep. The affected area includes sections of the tunnel, roadway, and related infrastructure. seeks to abate and remove 12 linear feet (LF) of the asbestos containing storm drain, The Project would demolish the manhole shaft, structurally reinforce and waterproof the lid of the tunnel, install a new sub in place of the manhole shaft, and perform roadway repairs.
