Reasons for Exemption
The project is exempt from CEQA under the Class 1 exemption for Existing Facilities (CEQA Guidelines section 15301(b)). This project will replace an existing waterline that is undersized and failing. Although the size of the pipeline will be larger, there will be no expansion of the existing use as there will be not additional services. The larger size will allow for more efficient operations at the existing WWTP and is required to meet current standards. All construction will occur in an existing roadway.
