Document Description
Caltrans proposes a project to preserve Class 1 pavement and repair or upgrade Transportation Management System (TMS), existing signage and guardrail. The project located in Mendocino County on United States Highway (US) 101, from Post Mile (PM) 81.37 to PM 91.32, approximately three miles south of the community of Cummings to a half mile north of Leggett. This project is needed to extend the service life, minimize maintenance, and prevent further deterioration of fair pavement with minor structural distress as predicted by the Pavement Condition Survey (PCS). In addition, existing Metal Beam Guardrail (MBGR) within the project limits need upgrading to current standards as the project would increase the height of the pavement. Signage and TMS work are needed to upgrade or repair assets that are in poor conditions.
