Document Description
Install one Flock brand automatic license plate reader (ALPR) at the top of Hollister Ranch Road near road 28 (the Gaviota wind caves trailhead) in Gaviota State Park. The camera will be pointed towards road 28 to capture vehicles entering/exiting the lot to identify stolen license plates, as well as to potentially capture vehicle burglaries. The one-day installation will require the excavation of a 12-inch diameter hole with a maximum depth of 36 inches, and then the pole will be set in concrete. All excavation will be completed with hand tools, and it is expected to be limited to previously disturbed soils. The approximate area of ground disturbance is approximately 30 square feet (6’ diameter work area).
All work will adhere to Departmental policies and standard best management practices to minimize impacts to sensitive resources. The project will enhance the safety of park visitors.
