Document Description
The project includes upgrading the existing 6-foot tall chain link fence to an 8-foot tall high security fence (HSF). Along with upgraded fencing, installation of multiple security cameras throughout the site with remote monitoring will add needed improvements due to ongoing issues with unhoused persons around the Valencia Water Reclamation Plant (VWRP). The new HSF will replace approximately 1,220 linear feet of existing chain link fence along the east, south, and west perimeters of the VWRP, with an additional 1,170 linear feet added to encompass newly acquired property at the site. 675 feet of razor coil and barbed wire will be added to the masonry block wall along the east side of the Flow Equalization Basins (FEB) next to the Old Road. The main entrance gates will be upgraded due to ongoing mechanical issues. Two 25 foot automated gates for the main entrance, a new 25 foot automated gate to enter the FEB and southern area of the VWRP, two manual access gates, and one pedestrian gate. The security cameras will be located along the fence perimeter, with new electrical infrastructure being installed including a viewing monitor at the control building. Lastly, a small new paved staff parking lot is being added between the two entrance driveways, requiring removal of trees. Additional clearing and grubbing along the fence perimeter will be required for installation.
