Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SON-58331-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to California Department of Parks and Recreation.
The project is limited to the installation of two new 20-foot-long culverts within the two unnamed tributaries to Sonoma Creek where they cross existing developed access roads, one 36-inch diameter galvanized steel pipe culvert and one 18-inch diameter galvanized steel pipe culvert, to replace existing wet crossings of the same footprint. Drainage rock will be placed around the culverts within the roadbed. No excavation will be required to install the culverts. The project also includes the removal of the existing 20-foot-long by 12-foot-wide wooden crossing over Schultz Creek and replacement with a single span prefabricated steel bridge of the same size as the existing crossing. The project will result in approximately 10 square feet of temporary impact to riparian habitat, which will be restored on-site. The project will not result in any new permanent impacts to riparian habitat as all infrastructure will be located within the roadbed and will replace existing crossings. No trees will be removed as part of this project. All work will occur when the two tributaries are dry, and work on the bridge over Shultz Creek will not be conducted within flowing water.
