Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SMO-56435-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the City of Menlo Park, as represented by Guan Huan Fu.
The project is limited to the annual removal of ruderal herbaceous vegetation from the banks of Atherton Channel, a rock-lined, 10- to 15-foot-wide trapezoidal engineered channel, using hand tools such as chainsaws and machetes. No trees or sediment will be removed from the channel. Herbaceous vegetation, once removed, will be loaded into covered trucks using manual labor, a lift, or a truck with an attached clamshell bucket. The vegetation will then be driven to the construction yard approximately two miles away where it will be placed into large dumpsters to be picked up by Recology trucks and hauled to a landfill for disposal. Accumulated vegetative debris near the culvert at the downstream limit of the work area will be removed using manual labor, a lift, or a truck with a clam shell bucket operated from above top of bank and will be disposed of along with herbaceous vegetation.
