Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SCR-35548-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Santa Cruz County - Department of Public Works, as represented by Joel LaCagnina.
The Project is limited to the installation of a retaining wall, rock slope protection (RSP) and roadway repairs for storm-related damage to Glenwood Cutoff Road at Post Mile 0.02. A new 104-foot-long soldier pile lagging wall will be constructed on the stream bank directly adjacent to Glenwood Cutoff Road. The new wall will be constructed in front of a smaller existing crib wall, which will remain in place. The soldier pile lagging wall will be constructed by drilling 14, 30-to-42-inch borings with a drill rig, installing steel soldier piles and timber lagging with an excavator, and installing 125 cubic yards of concrete backfill with cement trucks. A Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) dike will be installed along the edge of Glenwood Cutoff Road. In order to channel surface water runoff away from the top of the new retaining wall and prevent erosion, a storm drain comprised of two drop inlets,18’ drain pipe, T-style end, and RSP gravel filter outfall will be installed at the eastern portion of the Project area. A Midwest guardrail system will be installed along the edge of the new road shoulder. Erosion control at the site will consist of erosion control netting, fiber rolls, and hydro mulch installed with hand tools. No dewatering is required for this project and all work will be completed from the existing roadway. No trees will be removed.
