Reasons for Exemption
The City of San Diego determined that the project would quality to be categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to Section 15301, Existing Facilities; and where the
exceptions listed in Section 15300.2 would not apply. This exemption applies to minor alteration of existing structures involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use and includes example (e): "Additions to existing structures provided that the addition will not result in an increase of more than: (1) 50 percent of the floor area of the structures before the addition, or 2,500 square feet, whichever Is less". The project would add a total of 892 square feet. and remove 11 square feet to the existing 3,247-squarn-foot structure. The project Is consistent with this exemption, and the
exceptions listed in Section 15300.2 do not apply. The site is not included on any list complied pursuant to Government Code Section 65962.5 for hazardous waste sites.
