Document Description
The proposed Remedial Action Plan for the remediation of contaminants of concern in soil at the SMUD Thornton Avenue former electrical substation. The remedial action would consist of excavating soil on the Site and eastern adjacent property containing arsenic and lead. The cleanup would also reduce the potential for leaching to groundwater. The excavated areas would be backfilled with clean soil. All excavated soil would be removed from the Site and transported to an appropriate, permitted off-Site facility for disposal. Asphalt pavements and concrete curbing on the eastern adjacent property would be restored after backfilling the excavation with clean soil.
