Reasons for Exemption
The project includes minor alterations upgrades/improvements at an existing State building that involves negligible or no expansion of the existing building use. While the Bateson Building is eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places, none of the improvements proposed will impact any character-defining features of the historic resource. Review of the project plans by a Preservation Architect determined that the project complies with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and will not have an adverse effect on the historic nature of the resources. The State has confirmed no exceptions to the exemption apply.
