Document Description
This work includes removing and replacing existing asphalt pavement, concrete access ramps, cross gutter, re-establishing detection loops, and re-striping of Janine Drive between Santa Gertrudes Avenue and Solejar Drive and the neighborhood north of Janie Drive to West Road. he disturbed proiect site has no value as habitat for endangered, rare, or threatened species. Janine Drive and the nighboorhood north of Janine Drive are not designated as a scenic highway. The proiect site is not listed on Geotracker as having an active clean-up site assessment pursuant to lists identified under Section 65962.5 of the Government Code. The proiect site does not impact historical resources.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project was reviewed for potential exemptions and was found to satisfy the standards of Class 1 as specified within Article 19 Categorical Exemptions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines. A Class 1 exemption consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency’s determination, including but not limited to: (c) Existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails, and similar facilities (this includes road grading for the purpose of public safety), and other alterations such as the addition of bicycle facilities, including but not limited to bicycle parking, bicycle-share facilities and bicycle lanes, transit improvements such as bus lanes, pedestrian crossings, street trees, and other similar alterations that do not create additional automobile lanes.
