Document Description
This project will provide an improved electrical system for the complex of buildings at Providence Mountains SRA. Due to its remote location, a permanent generator on-site will be needed for emergency purposes, regardless of the power generation method. Improvements include installing a new 25kW generator, power distribution panel, inverters and battery bank in the Shop building. Installation of an engine-generator inside the Shop will require modifications to the building to provide suitable ventilation including an inlet for cooling air and an outlet for exhaust air. The improvements include installing approximately 14kW solar panel arrays on the Shop and Dorm roofs. The Shop becomes the new point of power generation and distribution for the park. This option would also require modifications to the existing fuel delivery system for the generators as well as the addition of a pad for a new fuel tank near the Shop building.

If the project is implemented as indicated within the CDPR Project Evaluation Form including measures provided by CDPR staff, then it is exempt under the CDPR list of Exempt Activities according to CEQA §15300.4 as:
Class 1, Section 15301 – Existing Facilities: Utility repairs or minor upgrades
Class 3, Section 15303 — New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures: Construction or installation of park facilities
