Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to 14 California Code of Regulations § 15301 as a Class 1 categorical exemption. Section 15301 (Class 1) exempts from CEQA minor alterations to existing facilities, such as a proposed traffic signal installation, which is categorically exempt under CEQA section 15301 (c). The application of this categorical exemption is not barred by any of the exceptions set forth in section 15300.2. The project is not expected to have any significant impact with regards to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality.
