Document Description
The Project proposes to construct a new three-story, 53,117 gross square foot building on a 1.24 acre University-owned property on the corner of El Colegio Road and Camino Pescadero Road, Isla Vista in unincorporated Santa Barbara County. The Project includes 33 residential units with 61 bedrooms and a guest room, accommodating a total of 82 beds for KITP’s postdoctoral scholars, visiting graduate fellows, long-term visitors and their families. Project landscaping would be located adjacent to property lines and in a central courtyard and involves removal of 6 trees. 33 vehicle parking spaces would be provided via a new vehicle access driveway at the southeast corner of the Project. Approximately 4,750 cubic yards of soil would be excavated, of which, 200 cubic yards would be used for fill. The remaining 4,550 cubic yards of cut material would be exported from the Project site.
