The purpose of this project is to reduce vehicle miles traveled (VMT) and provide an accessible crossing through the existing railroad grade crossing from W. D Street to the Lemoore Sports Complex. This project includes the construction of new sidewalks, driveway approaches, curb and gutter. This project is intended to benefit the residents and visitors of the City of Lemoore.

Reasons for Exemption
The work of this project will occur within existing public facilities and involve minor alterations to an existing public sidewalk. This project will not create any automobile lanes and will need minimal or no additional right-of-way to be acquired in order to carry out this project. Thus, there will be negligible or no expansion of use associated with this project. The project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review as a Class 1 existing facilities project for the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, Title 14 Section 15301 (c).
