Document Description
As part of the State of California’s energy efficiency standards CAL FIRE is retrofitting existing buildings to comply with California legislation to reduce greenhouse gases. The project consists of the replacement of electrical and mechanical equipment for lighting and renewable energy/solar at an existing facility. No expansion or ground disturbance will occur.

This project fits under §15302 (c) Replacement or Reconstruction. The project activities would replace existing mechanical and electrical systems to increase efficiency as mandated by California legislation. No exceptions apply which would
preclude the use of a Notice of Exemption for this project. CAL FIRE has concluded that no significant environmental impact would occur to aesthetics, agriculture and forestland/timberland, air quality, biological resources, cultural resources, energy, geology and soils, greenhouse gas emissions, hazards and hazardous materials, hydrology and water quality, land use planning, mineral resources, noise, population and housing, public services, recreation, transportation/traffic, utilities and service systems, or to wildfire. Documentation of the environmental review completed by the Department is kept on file at the CAL FIRE Valley Center Fire Station located at the project site address.
