Document Description
This project is set in a semi-rural suburban environment where the housing density is 4 or fewer housing units per acre. The terrain is of varying elevations and is densely tree-covered. Arterial access is accomplished via public highways, roadways, and local access roads. All homes today are served electricity from PG&E using existing pole structures. New fiber will be installed on these poles according to G.O 95 and with the approval of PG&E for joint occupancy, or will be installed underground. A total of 17.5 miles of fiber and strand will be placed. The typical Height of Attachment (HoA) will be between 20 and 22 feet depending on G.O. 95 requirements.

Under Decision D. 22-04-055 and Resolution T-17582 CPUC determined this project would fall within one of several categorical exemptions under CEQA. This project is exempt as it does not have the potential to have a significant impact on the environment. The project consists of aerial installation of fiberoptic cable to existing utility poles involving negligible or no expansion of use or capacity, and underground installation of fiberoptic cable involving minor trenching and backfilling where the surface is restored.
