Document Description
Caltrans is undertaking a State-Funded project in Del Norte at Various Locations. The work encompasses the modernization of existing traffic management infrastructure, including the replacement of obsolete 500 series Changeable Message Sign (CMS) boards with 700 series CMS boards and the replacement of associated communication equipment. Additionally, the project involves the replacement of cabinets, traffic count devices, and inductive loop detectors. All activities will be conducted within the existing State right-of-way. No additional land disturbance or environmental impact is anticipated, with all work confined to previously disturbed areas. The HM-4 TMS Program targets technology lifecycle of the core Traffic Management Systems (TMS) assets. The purpose of the project is to support the systematic overhaul of aging resources by replacing assets which are at the end of their lifecycle, using obsolete technology, or are in poor condition. This project will install census equipment upgrades and CMS repairs.
