Document Description
The project involves surface and subsurface rework activities. This oil well rework will involve running and cementing a tieback casing in an already existing casing. Project Activity will be restricted to existing oil field infrastructure – well site and roads. A well service rig and various support trucks and equipment are expected to be used during the rework activity. There are no new facilities being constructed. No expansion of the existing well pad is planned. Existing well pads should accommodate all the required equipment. Negligible vegetation removal is proposed for this project. No impacts to wildlife are anticipated and no mitigations related to these species are currently planned for this project. The job is not anticipated to take long, the rig's presence will range from a week to a couple of months with the Tracer Survey occurring within 90 days of the rig work completion. The proposed project consists of the California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) approving 1 permit for The City of Newport Beach to rework the well listed below in the West Newport Oil Field.
