Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to remove debris and install a flap gate adjacent to the San Bruno Creek Detention Basin in San Mateo County on SR-380 at post mile 6.22. The detention basin attenuates stormwater runoff from portions of the interchange and adjacent streets prior to discharging into San Bruno Creek. A 24-inch pipe outlet connects the basin to the creek. During the recent King Tide events, 7th Avenue on the west side of the detention basin was flooded since it is in a low-lying area. This project will install a flap gate at the outlet to prevent backflow from the creek into the detention basin. Debris from the outfall and detention basin will also be removed. Traffic control will be implemented during construction.
