Document Description
Sacramento County Department of Transportation will repair rock slope protection (RSP) at two railroad crossings. Repairs will include regrading the abutment slope too allow for proper drainage. Additionally, rebar and gunite will be placed over the existing RSP and critical drainage area (identified as 10 feet on either side of the bridge abutment) to prevent future undermining of the slope. No vegetation will be removed and no waters will be present.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 1 consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, repair, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The project will repair existing RSP to prevent future undermining of the existing slope and does not include an expansion of use and is therefore exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
