Document Description
Sacramento County Department of Transportation (SacDOT) proposes to repair the superstructure of the Sutter Slough Bridge Road Bridge. In September 2024, a high clearance vehicle hit the bracing on the bridge superstructure. Repairs would include replacing damaged features of the superstructure including portal bracing, top chord diagonal bracing, and rivets with bolted connections. All repairs would be completed on the superstructure and no work would be required in Sutter Slough.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 1 consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, repair, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The project consists of the repair of an existing public facilities. The bridge repairs would be completed within the existing right-of-way and would not require the removal of structures, vegetation or trees. The project would result in the continued use of the existing facility with little or no expansion of use. Therefore, the project is exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
