Document Description
The project is located within the Department of State Hospitals (DSH) Metropolitan State Hospital campus. The project would demolish the two existing 22-foot-tall, 750,000-gallon-capacity water tanks and the existing nonpotable water pumphouse, which is located behind Tank #2. The existing water tanks would be replaced by two new 40-foot-tall (maximum height), 80-foot-diameter, 1,000,000-gallon-capacity water tanks. The project would also replace piping, valving, and appurtenances associated with the new water tanks and existing pumphouses, and would verify/complete connections from the existing 12-inch firewater main along Balsam Street and South Circle Drive to the existing sprinkler system supply lines in the hospital campus’ central kitchen, administration building, and skilled nursing facility. Construction of the project would occur in two phases. Construction is expected to take approximately 12 months for each phase; Phase 1 is anticipated to begin in late 2025 and Phase 2 is anticipated to begin at the end of 2026.
