Document Description
The proposed project involves the repair of the Villa Park Dam (No. 1012) Spillway located near Villa Park at 8048 East Lolita Street, in the City of Orange, CA. The Villa Park Spillway Repair project will be divided into two tasks. The proposed project Task 1 activities will include the repair of concrete cracks, epoxy injection for wider cracks, spall repairs, expansion membrane repairs, and cleaning and repairing of weephole wire mesh. Task 2 activities include the replacement of one concrete panel and the repair of a broken pipe located behind a retaining wall. The proposed project anticipates 70 construction truck trips, will not have traffic impacts as construction staging will be onsite, and will implement Best Management Practice measures including Trackout Control Mats as part of the erosion sediment control plan. Construction for Task 1 will take approximately 35 days and is anticipated to be completed in the Fall of 2025, and construction for Task 2 is anticipated to be completed in the Spring of 2026. The proposed project is required preventative maintenance as requested by the Department of Water Resources, Division of Safety of Dams on March 14, 2025, in response to the Villa Park Dam Spillway Condition Assessment Report, dated August 2, 2024, prepared by Orange County Public Works.
