Document Description
The project proposes demolishing the existing 3,000-square-foot boat storage shed and foundations east of Bird Island in Blue Heron Lake (formerly Stow Lake). The existing shed has 48 4x4 piers that were driven approximately 3 feet into the sediment below the lake. Demolition would require piers to be cut at the lake base but they would not be removed from lakebed. The project would construct a replacement structure that would be larger in size (up to 6,000 square feet). The structure would be placed in the same general location as the current shed and would have a foundation consisting of 40 8-inch diameter piers driven approximately 9 feet into the sediment below the lakebed. The estimated volume of excavation would be 7 cubic yards.
