Document Description
The project involves the restoration of an existing, lawfully permitted, agricultural pond that was impacted by the McFarland Fire. Post-fire erosion and runoff has resulted in the introduction of significant sediment to the pond and a reduction of the ponds capacity. 80,000 cy of sediment will be removed from the pond and disposed of in an upland location and within a state regulated ephemeral drainage. The drainage footprint will be restored within the same footprint as the existing drainage but at a higher elevation and with a gradual slope. The project area is 4.6 acres and will result in 3.2 acres of temporary impacts to the pond, 0.003 acres of temporary intermittent stream impacts and 0.025 acres of impact to the state regulated drainage. 1:1 mitigation credits will be purchased to mitigate for the impacts to the state drainage.
